Renovation and Extension in Lorne

The functional layout of the original 1970's beach house performed admirably as a modern family home, requiring a simple extension and restoration.

An enclosed garage and contained studio were added to the underside of the home, whilst existing upper levels decks were extended to provide more space for outdoor living.

The home is completed with playful native landscaping that includes large granite boulders, recycled sleepers, 200-year old hand-pecked sandstone blocks, an inground trampoline, rock climbing wall, multi-level tree house, a flying fox, and a mural of resident king parrots (the namesake of the Gadubanud people) by Loz Green.

The house itself is just pure heaven to live in now. It is incredibly functional and workable for the family, but it is also completely stunning. Josh has this amazing knack for blending the tough, practical side of family life with gorgeous natural textures that just fit the environment. It is the ultimate family retreat and we still pinch ourselves every morning. - Anna
