Architectural Design Practice Profile

Josh Crosbie Architects is a bespoke architectural practice with offices in Lorne on the Great Ocean Road and a newly opened office in Newtown, Geelong.

JCA specialise in complex residential and commercial projects – predominately due to extensive planning controls, bushfire risk, steep terrain, difficult access, land instability and challenging orientations.

The company attributes their successful projects to:

  • In depth understanding of our client's needs and respect for the building budget.

  • Site responsive designs that embody sustainable materials and natural textures.

  • Practical and buildable detailing and construction knowledge.

  • Network of local specialist consultants, builders, suppliers and tradespeople.

JCA offer full design services including pre-purchase property assessments, development feasibility studies, concept designs, town planning, documentation, thermal performance, tendering and project management. Custom services will be tailored to your specific project needs.

Partnered with several leading domestic / commercial builders, JCA offer design + construct procurement.

Director, Josh Crosbie, holds a Bachelor of Architecture (Honours) and the Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours) from Deakin University's Waterfront Campus in Geelong. Josh continues to work as a project manager on large-scale residential and commercial projects and has extensive 'hands-on' experience in the construction industry.

Josh and his family live permanently in Lorne and his children attend the gorgeous local school.

The family love the beach and bush environment, regularly surfing, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, camping and enjoying yoga.

The JCA team foster a healthy work-life balance as a core component of their company culture, with all staff members enjoying full-time hours over a 4 day week.

Josh, Ash, Michael, Kaylene and Liz work between both offices and often enjoy a surf after work together in Lorne or a long lunch on Pako together.
