One of several projects JCA supported in the rebuilding of Wye River after the devastating bushfire of 2015, this new build represents a resilient but functional family holiday home.

Situated on a steep site adjacent to a gully, the home was designed to meet a BAL-40 standard and includes an onsite bushfire bunker.

Large windows capture tree-filtered views of the ocean, whilst delight is found nestled safely within via gorgeous original furnishings by Featherston, Utzon and Poulsen, to name a few.

Our experience working with Josh Crosbie began after we lost our holiday house at Wye River in the 2015 Christmas Day bush fires. Josh Crosbie was one of the architects recommended to us and after our first meeting we selected him to design our new house. The rebuild was very complicated for a variety of reasons and Josh was our “one stop shop” in negotiating with Council and all the agencies involved. He has developed very good professional working relationships with all parties and he project managed the rebuild from start to finish. It was recommended that we went with a preferred builder and we found this process most satisfactory.

Josh was easy to work with, offering a range of design solutions, he was considerate of our ideas and at all times mindful of our budget.

As a result we are fortunate to have a lovely home to enjoy with our family and just recently Josh has commenced work on an extension to our daughter’s blue stone cottage - Phil
