Newtown

New Build

Located on a bend of a river, this home is set into the sloping site and opens to the north and east overlooking the river and surrounding bush.

Originally designed by Lowe Architects in the early 1980s, Richard Lowe described the original design as an effective response to the stepped site, taking advantage of the northern aspect and the views to the river to the north and west.

An extensive but sensitive renovation maintains the pared back aesthetic, focusing on the beauty of materials including natural stone, exposed blockwork and timber linings.

An extension further enhances the home’s functionality and connection to the outside, with indoor spaces spilling seamlessly to the pool area and surrounding landscape.
