Bushfire recovery family home in Wye River

This striking home was constructed recently to BAL40 standard with a fire bunker after the Wye River Christmas Day fire sadly destroyed the previous family home.

Making the most of this amazing block, 2 long domino-like forms were adopted to catch northern sun looking down over Sep Creek, and easterly aspect straight over the ocean. The upper domino rests perpendicular over the lower form with a 3m cantilever toward the ocean. A beautiful 'book-end' rammed earth wall finishes the western entry nicely.

Carefully built by Great Ocean Road Builders.
